Hello everyone! I have been seeing quite a few posts of people asking questions about how to get started on their path or for just general tips. Now before I even begin, I am new to the path myself. I have been officially practicing for a year but I have been seeing signs or have been practicing divination (like using a pendulum) since I was in middle school or so. If I had to give myself a label, I am an eclectic menu catholic sea witch....that is also learning other paths lol. I am still trying to learn about different things to find out what is for me. Something that I do know is that I do not follow the Wiccan path. However, I do feel that since I have been practicing for a year, I can offer even a little bit of advice on how to get started. The most common advice that I have received is to research. Research and learn as much as you can. For me, I have learned a lot from YouTube and I have noticed that there are many great witchy youtubers, here are some of my favorites: 1. Hearthwitch: she is my favorite witchy YouTuber and she is so knowledgeable. Her videos are nice and long and are on such a wide variety of topics. 2. The Witch N the Working: This guy is awesome! I discovered him recently and I really love his channel. He has a lot of good advice and he has been practicing for over 20+ years. I also like his vibe lol. 3. Scarlet Ravenswood: she is a pagan YouTuber but again, she has so much material. 4. The witches’ cookery: I like her because she is a German kitchen witch. I love the vibe of her channel. She is nice and friendly. 5. The Green Witch: the title says it all but she had a lot of kitchen witch recipes and other spells. I really like her early videos. 6. Harmony Nice: she is a Wiccan YouTuber but she does have good videos about the sabbats and other topics. Besides these you tubers, there are many videos and documentaries on witchcraft. Dig around and watch as much as you can. Another piece of advice is to read and read lot. Research as much as you can. There are many different ways to access books. I have found a lot of mine in thrift stores and in libraries. If you are in the broom closet, there are also digital libraries as well. With my library card, I have access to all different kinds of digital resources. Another thing to do is to add witchy apps. You have completed a step by adding this one lol but another app that is really good is amino. On there, there are two pages, “pagans and witches” and “the witches circle”. Each page has over 200,000+ members. There is so much information on there that you can actually get lost. It’s awesome. I have added some screen shots of other witchy apps that I have for my practice. They are all free which is great! I’ll admit some of them aren’t directly witchy but they add to the vibe haha. If you have any further questions or would like to let me know how you are doing in your practice, please send me a message. Also, if you have any other advice for other witches, please add it to the comment section below.
